Workplace Conduct
Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Policy
Our commitment
Nurix Labs Private Limited (operating as NuPlay AI) has zero tolerance for sexual harassment. We are committed to a workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and where concerns can be raised safely.
We comply with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (the "POSH Act") and its Rules. This policy explains what we consider sexual harassment, how to report it, and how complaints are handled.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to everyone who works with or for NuPlay AI:
- Employees, whether full-time, part-time, probationary or on contract
- Interns, trainees and apprentices
- Consultants, contractors and vendor staff working with our team
- Customers, partners and visitors interacting with our team
It applies wherever work happens: our offices, client sites, events, business travel, work-related social gatherings, and online channels such as email, chat and video calls.
What is sexual harassment
Sexual harassment is any unwelcome behaviour of a sexual nature, whether direct or implied. This includes:
- Physical contact and advances
- A demand or request for sexual favours
- Sexually coloured remarks or jokes
- Showing pornography or sexually explicit material
- Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature, including messages, images or gestures
It also covers situations where such behaviour is linked to work, for example an implied or explicit promise of preferential treatment, a threat of detrimental treatment, a threat to someone's job, or conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile or humiliating work environment.
What matters is how the behaviour is received, not what the person intended.
Internal Committee
We have constituted an Internal Committee (IC) as required under the POSH Act to receive and inquire into complaints. In line with the Act, the IC is chaired by a senior woman employee, at least half its members are women, and it includes an external member from an NGO or with relevant expertise.
How to raise a complaint
Email your complaint to ethics@nuplay.ai. It goes to the Internal Committee. If you need help putting the complaint in writing, the IC will assist you.
- Submit within three months of the incident, or of the last incident if there were several. The IC can extend this by up to three more months if there was a good reason for the delay.
- Conciliation, if you ask for it. Before starting an inquiry, the IC can try to settle the matter through conciliation, but only at the complainant's request. No monetary settlement is made through conciliation.
- Inquiry. If there is no conciliation, the IC inquires into the complaint, giving both parties a fair hearing. The inquiry is completed within 90 days.
- Findings and action. The IC shares its report with the company and both parties within 10 days of completing the inquiry. The company acts on the IC's recommendations within 60 days.
- Appeal. Either party may appeal the outcome as provided under the POSH Act and applicable service rules.
During the inquiry, the complainant may request interim relief, such as a transfer or leave, and the IC can recommend it.
Confidentiality and protection
- Confidentiality. The identities of the complainant, respondent and witnesses, and the details of the complaint and inquiry, are kept confidential, as required by the POSH Act.
- No retaliation. Anyone who raises a concern in good faith, or helps with an inquiry, is protected from victimisation. Retaliation is itself a serious violation of this policy.
- False complaints. A complaint that cannot be proven is not a false complaint. Action is taken only where a complaint is found to be deliberately false or malicious.
